HIKE UTSAV

Man has lived for thousands of years with – and thanks to – nature. And now, nature is calling us back. Hike to places of perpetual ice and snow, across vast deserts, forests, mountains and villages you didn’t suspect the existence. Bon voyage!

Hiking is a lot like life. I believe that. I was 6 years old when I started going for camping trips and hiked a little bit too. This journey always requires your first feet to be in front of the other, again and again. If you allow yourself to be present throughout the entirety of the hike, you will witness beauty in every step and watch nature bursting into life.

With Hike Utsav, our focus is a little more on enjoying your environment without affecting it or disturbing it. We follow the "Leave No Trace" policy. Join us to give back to nature.

As much as camping is fun it can also be full of challenges and if you decide to venture out alone, challenges can increase even more. We’ve heard many time, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. The mountains literally teach us that.

WOMEN IN HIKING

WHAT ARE GIRLS MADE OF?

Sugar and Spice and all that is nice? Not quite. Girls are also made of passion and heart and adventures and strength. Of dreams and goals and so much more. Ladies, tighten your laces. You've got a hike to plan.

For the basics, leave it up to us. Worried about health and hygiene? Let's hear it from our inhouse hiker, Aungsumi Sinha who's experienced it all and found solutions for what to do and what not to do in the wild!

LET'S HEAR FROM OUR USER

SHRADDHA PORWAL

CO-FOUNDER - MUDDIE TRAILS

(Has been hiking and exploring places for almost 3 years)

As a woman hiker, I believe we have to let go of fear - of rough trails or getting tanned. Hesitations, questions about bad or no washrooms, the 'will I be able to do it' attitude and the fear of lack of privacy because of other men.

Once we leave these inhibitions behind, what we have ahead of us is - amazing sceneries, fresh wind blowing on your face and a sense of tranquility. It's a great feeling when you conquer a mountain, an instant boost in self-confidence that is dearly needed at times even in our personal lives.

In fact, on my first hike to the arguably toughest trek in the Western Ghats - Kumaraparvatha, I was one among the 10 hikers to make it to the top out of 25 odd people who started the hike in my group. It felt good. I felt powerful.

We women deserve all these things, don't we? :)

So, I would just say - buckle your shoes, say #hikemyway and go for it!
