BUILDING MUSCLE WITH AN ELASTIC: WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

You may have heard about an elastic workout without having tried it. Yet, this is very effective for complementing traditional weight training.

Initially used in rehabilitation, this technique has become more and more widespread, to the point of being an essential part of muscle strengthening exercises.

Indeed, thanks to the resistance work, fitness elastics will help you gain speed, strength and muscle power, which are essential for improving your physical performance.

You can use them during your warm-up or in addition to a weight training programme, to carry out exercises with lighter loads. For example, you can exercise the muscles of the upper body (triceps, pecs, shoulders, back) or glutes with heavy loads one day, and use the elastic bands to repeat 3 or 4 lighter series the next day.

WHAT FITNESS ELASTICS SHOULD YOU USE?

There are three different types of fitness elastic, suited to each different use and each promising similar results: from the simplest in the form of flat coloured bands like the Elastiband, to tubes with handles like the Resistance Tube.

They are easy to use and the level of resistance increases as you pull on them (intensity levels are offered for each one).

On some models, such as the Expander type, you can adjust the number of elastics to increase the difficulty.

WHAT EXERCISES CAN YOU DO WITH A FITNESS ELASTIC?
